Just wondering who all is going to the ACB convention in Jaxonville, Florida. I'll be there the 7th through the 14th, but leaving on the 14th before the banquet. Meh.
Hey, I'm coming in the morning of the 9th and leaving the 13th to hang with some friends in Atlanta. Who else? Also, what affiliate stuff are people planning to attend?
Seeing as I'm a current NABS board member, I'll be doing a bunch of their stuff. And I'm going to the FIA showcase.
Cool! Tell me what's going on with Nabs besides the comedy stuff since I'll be leaving earlier that day. I'm going to sort of check everything out this week, then join acb and some of the affiliates later. I have a friend (she'll be my bflag roomie and trouble maker companion!) performing in the Fia showcase, so I'm definitely attending that.
We have the NABS welcome party Saturday night July 8, which I believe starts at 8:00. I don't remember how much that costs if you didn't pre-register, but I know it wasn't a lot of money, all things considered. Then we have a scholarship luncheon/board meeting Sunday starting at noon. If you have any interest in being involved in NABS as an officer, you should try to attend the board meeting. I don't know for sure where that's being held, but someone should have that information. I'm pretty sure it's in the same room as the scholarship luncheon, but don't quote me on that. We're doing some other events combined with other ACB organizations, but I don't remember them off hand. It's all in the program, though. Tuesday is our second and final board meeting at convention, and the one where we elect new officers. Should be fun. To the best of my knowledge, that raps up NABS stuff at convention, excluding comedy night of course.
I'm planning to attend, only I didn't know you had to pre-register. I'm mainly wanting to check out the exhibit halls, and I've been hearing that they want people with guidedogs to come and do demonstrations, but I don't know what time I'm supposed to be there seeing as how I can't get any info out of anyone here.
So, if anybody could share with me what time these events start during the day so I can figure out what I'm going to do from there, I'd really appreciate it.
You don't have to pre-register. It's just a little less expensive to do it that way. And I'm not sure what time all events start, because I'm not sure who wants you to do the demonstrations.
To be honest with you, I'm not sure either. My bf heard about that from someone and relayed it back to me, so I'm not sure where he got that bit of info from.
A friend of our's who works for the paritransit company in this area told me a while back they wanted me to do the same thing for an event that was being hosted prior to that, only it was the same issue; she waited until the last minutte to tell me about it, gave me no information as to where I was supposed to go, etc, so they didn't see me there as a result.
